Micro-surfacing is a cold-mix paving treatment. A purpose-built machine blends the materials on site and spreads the mix over a prepared road surface.

Typical timing depends on mix design and site conditions.
04 / Application
Five steps.
One pass.
The treatment is mixed and laid continuously on site, following preparation of the existing road surface.
Prepare
Clean the pavement and repair defects.
Mix on site
Blend aggregate, emulsion, cement, water and additives.
Spread
Lay the mix evenly across the lane.
Set
Allow the material to set, typically in 60–120 seconds.
Reopen
Traffic can usually return in about an hour.
